Join Educator's for Climate Action (ECA) of Manitoba in our final professional development workshop of the 2023-2024 school year!
Active transportation is part of the solution in taking action on climate change. Peter Obendoerfer, BEST (Bicycle Education and Skills Training) Coordinator for Seven Oaks, will discuss how the program has developed in Seven Oaks for preparing all Middle Years students to safely bike for transportation.
Ariel Desrochers from Green Action Centre and Lucas Stewart, Executive Director of the WRENCH, will explain how they contribute to student learning about cycling, and what opportunities and services they can provide for your students.
Mark Cohoe, Executive Director, Bike Winnipeg, is the most knowledgeable and influential cycling advocate in the city. He will share his insights into the development and future of cycling infrastructure, and how Bike Winnipeg is working to make the city is safer for cyclists and pedestrians. He will also lead us on a short tour of downtown infrastructure finishing at the Forks. Bring your bike if you can!
